Ensemble Physical Theatre & Voice workshop
for professional artists and teachers
‘The Bodymind of the performer’
7 – 8 December
with Aliki Dourmazer
Physical Theatre & Vocal Trainer
Associate Director DUENDE Ensemble
The act of Physical Theatre and physical expression involves the absolute focus on the body and mind simultaneously. To achieve this in an ensemble group, demands the live presence of the performers in the ‘here and now’ of the action as well as the balance between the instinctive communication among the performers and the personal performative skills of each one.
The voice of the performer shares the same energy with gesture and connects the ‘inner landscapes’ of the performer with the outer environment of the audience.
In this workshop we will concentrate on the ‘here and now’ of the performer’s action as well as on the balance between the instinctive communication among the performers and the personal performative abilities of each one.
The workshop combines :
- structuring of attention, control and channeling of energy exercises (John Britton).
- Structuring and developing an ensemble in action.
- structured improvisations in solo, couples and groups.
- voice warm up, discovering the resonance in the body.
- voice expansion exercises (Grotowski, Chris Coe).
- body – voice dynamic experimentations (Aliki Dourmazer).
The heart of this approach is developing psychophysical and vocal skills in an ensemble theatre group through the principles of p l e a s u r e and positive feedback.
The workshop refers to professional actors, dancers, performers, directors, theatre and voice teachers and artistic school graduates.
